Recap: Cloud Computing World Forum 2011

As you may have already heard, we were present at the Cloud Computing World Forum this week, first and foremost to pick up Bime's award for Best Cloud Application.

This award adds to the numerous accolades Bime has received in the past, which include Best French Start Up of The Year at EuroCloud France 2011, and the Creation and Development category in the French Department of Research National Competition for the Creation of Innovative Enterprises.

Here is the official press release for all award winners: World Series Award winners announced.

Our shiny trophy:

The event

The event was well organized and in full-swing by the time we arrived. There were various talks going on in the 3 different theatres representing 3 core areas of interest: the Cloud Approach Theatre (Strategy), Cloud Build Theatre (Technical), and Cloud Connect Theatre (Mobile and Social Cloud).

We were happy to see that as we spoke to people, We Are Cloud and Bime were already on their radars. It was inspiring to see the success of different cloud technologies out there, and we are proud to be a part of it!

Numbers: there were about 120 visionary speakers and about 70 leading exhibitors throughout the whole conference.

If you missed the forum or the talks session, don't worry, the audio recording will be uploaded in the next few days to, as one of the organizers told me.

We briefly met show director, Mark Johnstone, when we picked up our award and had our photo taken (photo coming soon!).

It was also nice to meet the face behind Business Cloud News, the leading source of strategic insight, news and analysis on Cloud Computing, editor Chris Ward. He interviewed us during the afternoon about Bime and our award, so look out for a piece on soon!

Were you at CCWF 2011? What were your impressions? We'd love to know.
