Vadim Vichniakov recently graduated from SKEMA Business School and is a former Consultant for Microsoft. Vadim worked for eight months on creating an independent analysis project on recruitment patterns in large IT organizations. Students can access interactive dashboards mainly developed from Linkedin data. Its purpose? To help them focus their efforts in their search for IT jobs.
Vadim has agreed to share his "Cloud BI" experience that demonstrates how many analytic layers can now be added quickly and simply to your business projects as well as application developments, whether you are an established business or a young startup . Long Live the Cloud * (* editor’s addition!).
"I was trying to find an intuitive and agile solution to visually analyze a complex database. The challenge was mainly to allow inexperienced end-users to interact easily with the dashboard to make the most of it during their job search.”
“The creation interface is very intuitive, and getting started was made much more natural than with competing solutions. The speed of computation in the cloud provided by BIME is also a clear advantage, it gives a very high processing capacity and does not require dedicated infrastructure. Finally, their customer service is really responsive which allowed me to get targeted responses in less time." says Vadim.
Regarding the type of data presented to his users, Vadim explains that this is mainly knowing when the major IT companies are recruiting, and how many vacancies there are, by company, by location, and when during the year. "This dashboard was developed in response to the lack of an advanced analytical view of job offers over time. It identifies seasonalities and allows applicants to anticipate periods of recruitment and improve their chances in their job search. " he adds.
Vadim chose the Cloud capabilities of BIME and its 100% embedded BI solution, for several reasons:
"My decision was mainly influenced by the ability to use BIME from any device, from a web browser. At no point were computing capabilities reduced. I also evaluated Tableau Software and Microsoft Power BI. Neither was as Cloud-oriented and user-friendly as BIME Analytics.”
Apart from the work done to create the database, the development of the interface was done in less than a month, including different iterations (from users’ feedbacks, improved visual interface,... etc.). "Processing a large amount of data can be a hindrance to decision making. Interpreting it intelligibly and productively is a challenge. In an environment where everything can be quantified and analyzed, such an intuitive and powerful product as BIME allows targeted, agile and extremely diverse analysis in record time.”
Today, his dashboards are publicly available, mainly via student association networks. "To communicate the lessons learned from the analysis, I share the results on professional social networks like Yammer and Slack. I also use social networks like Facebook and Twitter through student organizations to maximize visibility. "
What are the next steps ? "The data source is constantly being optimized and soon I will consider adding a greater number of job-boards, more predictive analysis, and segmentation by business area. The users want ever more targeted analysis, and I want to incorporate these new features in the next version of the solution”.
Bonus ! "What about your favorite features?": "I love the interface for editing the dashboard. The addition of queries is extremely simple, the customization panel is highly evolved. As a result, it is possible to have a unique look to set it apart”.
Thank you to Vadim, and sincere congratulations for having made this modern analysis available in such a short time. May Cloud BI help them to find their dream jobs.
